Overview
Skan is a hanging lamp by Lievore Altherr Molina for Vibia. Vibia's model text calls it a hanging lamp with a minimalist design, a return to the essential combining basic shapes and pure lines, and its collection page calls it a sleek and unadorned fixture with lean lines and a soothing purity of form. The single pendant model 0270 has a Ø 30 cm diffuser.
Construction
Vibia's model data lists a steel canopy (Ø 17.3 cm on the sketch). The 0270 offers surface, free-wire, built-in (recessed) XS and remote Micro or XXS installations, and belongs to Vibia's Composing Pendants system, in which a single luminaire can flow freely through space or several pendants can be linked to one point of connection. Vibia's pages describe a slender cable and, for the Skan collection, crisp lines and gentle curves.

Story
A reduction to the essential
Vibia's Skan page says the collection is a reduction to the essential that combines purity of form with superior lighting efficiency, with a sleek silhouette that is modest yet defined and enhances the atmosphere without imposing itself. The page adds that the lamp suspended by a slender cable delivers a warm, even light that promotes relaxation and conversation.
Composing Pendants
Vibia says Composing Pendants free Skan from the usual limits of electrical systems, so one luminaire can move freely through a space or several pendants can share one connection point. For suspended ceilings it names the remote and recessed connections as giving a smooth, clean look.
