Story
Beach seating of the 1920s
The shape of Shadowy recalls the beach seating of the 1920s along the Northern European coasts. Boontje reimagined that shape with a contemporary twist, using digitally rendered colorful patterns.
Handcrafted in Dakar
Local artisans in Dakar, Senegal, handcraft the armchair. Boontje's exuberant design is combined with time-honored craftsmanship, and a painted steel base sits under the handwoven polyethylene threads.
