Description

Overview

Jean-Marie Massaud’s 2008 Seven table replaces a conventional rectangle with three unequal sides. B&B Italia specifies seating for seven in a 3+2+2 arrangement.

Graphic construction

The top is veneered light MDF wood-fibre panel with an MDF insert. Its three-branch tubular-steel support is visible as a graphic pattern through the surface treatment, either contrasting with or matching the top.

Dimensions

The sole official TS234 drawing measures W 234 × D 157 × H 74 cm. The official composition page documents this single three-sided format.

Story

Three sides for seven places

The manufacturer frames Seven around a specific social layout: three places on one side and two on each of the other sides. The resulting outline is neither round nor rectangular.

A visible branch pattern

Rather than hiding the supporting geometry, the design allows the three-way structure to register across the top. B&B Italia says its appearance changes with the chosen wood or lacquer finish.
