Unframed support at stool height
The Sayl Stool by Yves Béhar uses a frameless 3D Intelligent suspension back supported by a Y-Tower. Elastomer strands vary their tension to balance support with freedom of movement.
Work-stool controls
The suspension mid-back model has a foam-padded upholstered seat, synchronous tilt, passive PostureFit support, and a five-star base. Seat depth, lumbar support, arm, tilt, caster, and finish options are configurable.
Representative dimensions
The official drawing for the assembled AS7SA configuration labels a maximum 24.75 in width, 26 in depth, and 52.5 in height. The seat-height range is 23.5-33.5 inches.
Story
Suspension-bridge principles
Yves Béhar looked at suspension structures that achieve more with less material. Herman Miller explains that the Sayl back uses its tower to carry an unframed elastomer surface, placing greater tension where support is required and less where movement is intended.
Sayl raised for higher surfaces
The stool carries that back structure into seating for high tables and counters. Its work-stool specification adds a raised gas lift, circular foot support, and task controls while preserving the open suspension system.
