Overview
Saya is a chair and stool family designed by Lievore Altherr Molina in 2012. Arper describes its wooden silhouette as a graphic sign, with a fluid line and a strong visual identity for home and contract interiors.
Construction
Representative model 3700 combines an oak-veneer shell with a four-leg oak-veneer base. Arper lists three finishes and includes optional felt glides for wooden floors. Other chair versions use a chromed or powder-coated steel sled base and may add a seat cushion.
Recognition
Saya received the Red Dot Best of the Best and ADI Design Index recognition in 2013, followed by an Interior Innovation Award in 2014.
Story
A gesture in wood
The official page frames Saya as a mark or signature rendered in wood. Its central idea is the relationship between a fluid outline, the warmth of the material and a bold silhouette.
One shell, several supports
The family carries that wooden shell across chairs and stools. Chair configurations include a wooden four-leg base and a steel sled, while exposed or cushioned seats allow the same form to address different settings.
