Description
Overview
The 2006 Saruyama Island Ottomans are the small and medium footstool forms designed by Toshiyuki Kita for Moroso. Both versions share the same concealed construction.
Construction
Cold-injected polyurethane surrounds an internal steel frame above a wooden base. Polyethylene glides sit below the forms, and the covers are fixed rather than removable. Moroso recommends wool fabric for the range.
Specifications
- Forms: small and medium footstools
- Upholstered body: cold-injected polyurethane
- Concealed support: steel
- Base: wood
- Floor contact: polyethylene glides
Story
Low forms within Saruyama Island
The ottomans translate the rounded, asymmetrical language of Toshiyuki Kita's Saruyama Island range into compact upholstered volumes. The official thumbnail presents two differently proportioned footstools as a coordinated pair.
A continuous upholstered surface
Foam is formed over a concealed steel structure and wooden base, leaving the textile surface to define the silhouette. Fixed covers preserve the uninterrupted contours, while wool upholstery is the manufacturer's recommended specification.
