Roger Bed

Overview

Roger Bed by Rodolfo Dordoni has a minimal design and a dynamic shape. Like the Roger seating system, it has an airy look and a couture-style headboard quilted with horizontal seams and trimmed with piping along the perimeter. The headboard slants diagonally above a slender, suspended platform.

Construction

The platform is a plywood frame with pocket springs under high-resilience polyurethane foam, upholstered in fabric or leather. The bed is raised 13 cm off the ground on extruded aluminium bearing blades in a varnished Black Coffee finish, set back from the perimeter.

The Roger concept applied to the bed

The Roger Bed takes up the concept of the Roger seating system. It has the same airy look and the couture-style aesthetic of the headboard, quilted with sophisticated horizontal seams and trimmed with piping along the perimeter, in a minimal design with a dynamic shape.

A slant for reading and a platform off the floor

The diagonal slant of the headboard is reminiscent of the Roger seating system and helps to support a correct reading posture. The slender platform is of sartorial design, with lapped seams, and the leather bands of the structural base are sewn together using ribbons and crafted with the technique used for fine leather luggage. The bed rests 13 cm off the ground on bearing blades set back from its perimeter.
