Description

Overview

The Rivera armchair is designed by Rodolfo Dordoni for Minotti's outdoor range. Its backrest is woven polypropylene fibre set on a handcrafted solid iroko base. At 84 cm deep, the armchair has restrained proportions and suits projects where space is at a premium.

Construction

The wood is kiln-dried solid iroko, shaped on computer-controlled machines and assembled to precise drawings before hand joining and finishing. A stainless steel frame carries a laser-cut seat plate, both powder coated for exterior use. Backrest and armrests are wrapped in 7 mm Taslan braided polypropylene with a "cannage" effect. Seat and backrest cushions use high resilience polyurethane foam with water-repellent fibre.

Specifications

  • Overall size: 79 x 84 x 74 cm (W x D x H)

Story

A solid iroko base

The Rivera armchair sits on a slender base of solid iroko heartwood, a premium wood universally appreciated for durability and waterproof qualities. Its solid wood is hand finished and, at 84 cm deep, the armchair keeps restrained proportions.

Cannage-effect weave

Working the cannage-effect weave takes skill by hand and tireless patience. The project is driven by a desire to experiment with contrasts and unique combinations of outdoor materials: lightweight stainless steel, the reassuring warmth of wood, sophisticated weaves and elegant fabrics.
