Overview
Rivera is an outdoor sofa by Rodolfo Dordoni for Minotti. A slender handcrafted base in solid iroko heartwood supports an enveloping backrest in woven polypropylene fibre.
Construction
- Frame: solid kiln-dried iroko heartwood, with a protective coating and a level 35 gloss finish
- Structure and seat: stainless steel with a laser-cut geometric design, powder-coated in polished pewter
- Backrest and armrests: braided polypropylene fibre of 7 mm diameter, in a "cannage" weave
- Cushions: high-resilience polyurethane foam with water-repellent fibre, in completely removable covers

Story
A weave for the outdoors
Rivera pairs solid iroko heartwood with a woven polypropylene backrest. The "cannage" effect weave requires great skill and manual ability as well as patient workmanship.
Wood that doubles as a surface
The cantilevered wood frame of the Rivera sofa is shaped so that it can be used as a table surface for glasses or other small objects. The iroko heartwood is valued for its durability and waterproof qualities and is treated with a protective coating.
