Story

One of the first Knoll commissions

Knoll's shop describes the Risom Dining Table as one of the first pieces commissioned by Knoll, a table that brought the natural materials and understated form of Scandinavian design to large-scale U.S. production. The design-plan page links the unique geometry and angles of its legs to Risom's Scandinavian design sensibilities.

Two dates for the table

Knoll's heading on the table page gives 1943, as does the April 2026 price list, while the Risom tables product sheet, issued in 2008, places the dining table in Risom's original 1941 collection for Knoll.
