Description

Overview

RFH Terrace Table RD5 is a round outdoor dining table by Robin Day, dated 1951, in the Royal Festival Hall collection. It stands on four legs that splay out at a slight angle, and it is finished in black.

Construction

CNC bending and welding shape the frame, which is then welded to a 3 mm steel plate; the entire leg is electroplated and powder-coated. The top is compact laminate with a uniform black-coloured core, acrylic lacquer on the upper side and melamine resin on the reverse. Plastic gliders are fitted.

Story

From the Royal Festival Hall collection

RD5 is part of Robin Day's Royal Festival Hall collection, and Day lived from 1915 to 2010. &Tradition says the table brings a soft yet industrial demeanour to a lawn or a terrace.

Made to come apart

Disassembly is built into the design, so parts can be repaired, renovated or replaced more simply. The frame is steel, a recyclable durable metal.
