Description

Overview

The Revers Lounge Chair is GUBI's upholstered interpretation of a classic lounge-chair form. Its name refers to the silhouette of a jacket lapel, expressed through a curved shell and sweeping outer edges. The saved configuration combines separate front and back upholstery with short wooden legs.

Construction

The official specification identifies American walnut wood legs with an oiled, matt finish and standard glides. The selected version uses Harp fabric on the front and Chamois upholstery on the back, allowing the enclosing shell and inner seat to be specified independently.

Specifications

The 2018 chair measures 34.3 in wide × 33.5 in deep × 29.5 in high. GUBI lists a 13.8 in back height, 25.2 in armrest height, 6.5 in armrest width and 21.3 in spacing between the arms for item 10064129.

Story

A Tailored Silhouette

GUBI named the chair after the revers, or lapel, of a jacket. The comparison is carried through the shell: it curves around the sitter while the upper edges sweep outward like tailored cloth. Rather than adding decorative parts, the design uses this single enclosing gesture to give a familiar lounge-chair structure a distinct identity.

Two Upholstery Surfaces

The official configuration separates the upholstery applied to the chair's front from that used on its back. This makes the outer shell legible as its own surface while the seat and inner back remain visually connected, all supported on four short American walnut legs.
