Description

Overview

Rodolfo Dordoni's Powell seating system for Minotti is, in the official page's words, the quintessential modern-day sofa as Minotti sees it: welcoming, refined and informal, in fixed and sectional seats. The sofa looks slightly raised, nearly suspended, and a sleek aluminium frame defines its design and stresses its lightness.

Construction

A one-piece multi plywood frame with elastic straps is set into high-density polyurethane foam in several densities. Seat cushions are padded with channelled goose down around a central high-density foam insert. The base is extruded aluminium with die-cast aluminium joints, extra-glossy anti-touch varnish in Sand, Bronze, Granite or Pewter.

Specifications

Sofa 175 cm: 175 cm wide, 98 cm deep and 88 cm high on the technical sheet.

Story

Ease every day

Minotti's page describes a seating system that embodies the contemporary sofa: comfortable, elegant yet informal, made for a natural inclination to relax. It credits the balance of proportions and the sartorial craft of each detail to the style that has become Minotti's identity.

Details

The page notes a sofa profile that forms a teardrop at the corner with a 45 degree joint, down feather padding in seat and back cushions, and a profile running along the upper side of the base. An aluminium frame follows the whole perimeter, in sharp contrast to the softness of the seating, with die-cast aluminium corner joints.
