Description
Overview
The Pilotis Bench is, according to Minotti, inspired by the sculptural design of the Pilotis console table in steel and wood. Its Licorice-lacquered brushed ash top serves as a seat and carries a soft cushion. Where the console table frame stands on a central cylindrical base, the bench has two wooden legs.

Construction
- Structure: mitre-folded polished stainless-steel sheet, with a top in MDF finished in brushed ash veneer and open-pore Licorice lacquer
- Cushion: a heat-bonded fibre filling with a high-resilience polyurethane foam core; fabric or leather upholstery lifts off entirely, and the sheet notes that a removable 110 x 50 cm cushion is included
- Legs: MDF, 70 mm thick, brushed ash veneer with the same open-pore Licorice lacquer; adjustable ABS feet with protective black felt glides
Specifications
- Bench: W 164 x D 50 x H 41 cm, as in the page caption BENCH 164X50XH41 CM
Story
From console to bench
Minotti ties the bench to the Pilotis console table, whose steel and wood sculptural design it takes as its inspiration. The step from one to the other is a change of support: two wooden legs in place of the console's central cylindrical base, and a top that serves as a seat for a soft cushion.
A centrepiece
The page closes by saying that the bench's strong aesthetic makes it a centrepiece in any living space.
