Description

Overview

Paola is a historic chair by Vico Magistretti that speaks of tradition and modernity. In this project rigidity and softness meet, and solidity and lightness come together. Tacchini is proud to re-edit it.

Construction

The chair is made of stained solid ash wood, with seat padding in one-component polyurethane foam under a fabric or leather cover. The rear legs twist slightly in a helix and turn into the supports of the gently tilted, curved backrest; the seat base is geometric and rectangular.

Specifications

Code 0PALSD01 measures 50 x 51 x 75 cm (W x D x H).

Story

Composed and robust, yet light

Paola represents the dichotomy found in many of the Lombard architect's works. It is composed and robust, yet stackable and light for easy moving. Tacchini re-edits the chair as a project in which rigidity and softness meet.

Legs, backrest and seat

The rear legs are shaped by a slight helical twist that carries them up into the supports of a curved, gently inclined backrest. At the front, soft rounded lines ease the legs into the rectangular seat base.
