Description
Overview
The Panthella Floor Lamp is credited to Verner Panton, who according to Louis Poulsen designed the Panthella lamp in 1971. The page says: "The shape is characteristic for Panton, who strove to create a lamp, whose light was reflected in the base as well as in the shade." It adds: "In white opal acrylic, the fixture emanates a pleasant, diffused light."

Story
Light in the shade and the base
Louis Poulsen's page credits the Panthella to Verner Panton, 1971, and says he wanted the light reflected in the base as well as in the shade. Its technical note describes a soft and comfortable illumination: the hemispherical shade sends light downwards, and the material lets most of the light spread diffusely from the shade.
The floor version
The Panthella Floor Lamp measures 19.7 in wide and long and 51.4 in high, weighs 12.4 lbs and is only available in white opal acrylic. It comes with an 11 ft cord with plug and an on/off foot switch, and takes one A-21 bulb of up to 22 W.
