Overview
Panel Table 100 x 420 cm Black/Dark Brown is a Normann Copenhagen dining table by Simon Legald. A stained pine top rests on two powder coated steel bases, so the table reads as three panel-like elements.
Construction
The top is FSC certified pine with a Dark Brown stain and a matt lacquer. The two bases are powder coated steel joined by a steel beam, and the top and bases are cut at a slight angle. Three small adjustment screws under each base let the table sit level on uneven surfaces. It is flat-packed with an assembly manual and weighs 145.5 kg.
Specifications
420 x 100 x 75 cm (Panel Table 100 x 420 cm Black/Dark Brown, 609527).
Story
Three panels instead of four legs
Panel Table sets aside the idea of a dining table with a leg in each corner. Its three visual elements, a top and two bases, are meant to recall separate panels, which gives the table a simple, structural look.
A slight angle in top and bases
The pine top and the steel bases are cut at a slight angle. The angled cut is an elegant detail that gives the robust table an airy, sophisticated expression.
