Overview

The Outline Sofa 3-Seater by Anderssen & Voll for Muuto adds new perspectives to the classic Scandinavian design sofas of the 1960s, marrying simplicity and function. The design takes its name from its strong outline: clean and elegant on the outside, with a deep seat and soft cushioning on the inside. Lines that reference architectural shapes and curved armrests give it a distinct, timeless appearance across the sizes and variants of the Outline Series.

Construction

• Wood and steel construction with cold foam filling
• Fully upholstered in textile, imitation leather or leather (leather from selected premium suppliers)
• Base in powder-coated or polished aluminium, die-cast from a minimum of 90% recycled aluminium (a mix of post-industrial and post-consumer waste)
• Pre-mounted felt glides

A New Perspective on the 1960s Sofa

Anderssen & Voll set out to give the classic Scandinavian sofa of the 1960s a new perspective. "We sought to create an identity that had an elegant timelessness to it, making for an appearance that was distinctly refined while making little visual noise," says Torbjørn Anderssen.

Recycled content

In the series declaration the 3-seater carries product-level recycled content of 2% post-industrial and 4% post-consumer material. For the aluminium base the same document sets a floor of 40% post-industrial plus 50% post-consumer recycled aluminium.
