Description

Overview

The Loveland sofa is an upholstered seating system by Patricia Urquiola for Moroso. Its seats and backrests are softer and gentler, and solid wooden bases take the place of the tubular steel of the earlier system.

Construction

Seats: polyurethane foam in differentiated densities with polyester fibre over a wood-based frame. Feet: ash, with adjustable glides. With no load applied the seat height is 420 mm, and leather versions are the exception to the removable covers.

Story

A Lowland system, reworked

Loveland starts from Lowland, an upholstered seating system by Patricia Urquiola dating from 2000. A different approach to sustainability revises it: an existing product is enhanced and turned into an (ever)green piece that stays coherent with the original design.

Softer seats on wooden bases

The seats and backrests are softer and gentler, and solid wooden bases replace the tubular steel. These choices bring out the architectural qualities of the series while keeping the sophisticated rationalist mood of the sofa, as a stand-alone piece or in a composition.
