Description

Overview

The Martha rocking armchair is Roberto Lazzeroni’s more playful version of the upholstered Martha seat. Its shell remains open at the sides while long ash rockers introduce movement.

Construction

A moulded rigid-polyurethane shell carries a softly padded back and seat. The back is fixed through a hidden connection; soft moulded polyurethane and polyester wadding form the removable cushion. The rocking support is solid ash.

Story

Motion without enclosure

Poltrona Frau calls the rocking version playful and informal. The seat-and-arm surface opens outward while the back is held clear of the shell, so the form remains visually light even on extended runners.

Woodwork below the seat

The manufacturer highlights the solid-ash rocking base as a piece of wood craftsmanship. It changes the armchair’s contact with the floor while retaining Lazzeroni’s contrast between the firm outer casing and the softer seating surface.
