Description
Overview
The Mariposa 3-Seater, designed in 2014 by Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby, uses slim side and rear elements that pivot outward by about 30 degrees. Two seat cushions distinguish it from the smaller 2-Seater.
Construction
- Webbed metal structural frame with polyurethane foam
- Seat cushions combining polyurethane and viscoelastic foams
- Feather-filled chamber overlays
- Removable covers
Specifications
- Adjustable overall range: 2380–2680 × 1015–1150 × 805–875 mm
Story
Movement hidden in a soft outline
Mariposa conceals its function within thin upholstered sides and back. Intentional pressure changes each panel angle continuously, while ordinary leaning is resisted so the selected position remains stable.
The largest straight sofa
The 3-Seater uses two separate seat cushions and provides the widest fixed sofa in the family. Its moving side elements may support reclining as well as upright sitting.
