Magnetic adjustment
Michael Raasch’s Magnet Lamp uses a magnetized cylindrical shade that can be placed freely along the upright and angled with its handle. The lamp measures 250 × 310 × 740 mm.
Materials and control
The structure is textured satin lacquered steel. A cotton shade and PMMA diffuser are paired with a textile cable and manual dimmer. Ligne Roset supplies the lamp for one 60 W E27 standard incandescent bulb.
Handling note
The manufacturer states that the shade should be moved only after the lamp is switched off and the bulb has cooled.
Story
A movable interpretation of the shaded lamp
Ligne Roset calls Magnet Lamp Michael Raasch’s modern interpretation of the classic shaded lamp. Instead of fixing the shade at one level and angle, the design uses magnetism and a handle to change both.
Light moderated by two layers
The cylindrical cotton shade works with a PMMA diffuser. The manufacturer describes the combination as creating a pleasant lighting ambience, while the manual dimmer provides direct control from the textile cable.
