Luxor Cabinet

Overview

The Luxor series by Giulio Cappellini is made of elements with a matt or glossy finish, on a metal base that is matt lacquered in the same finish as the cabinet. Cappellini describes the cabinets for living room or contract settings, with a clean, light, free-standing appearance. The series includes sideboards with drawers and open-faced cabinets, or cabinets with hinged, sliding or flap doors, and can be fitted with internal drawers and shelving.

Construction

The case is made partly of wood-fibre conglomerate panels and partly of poplar plywood covered with aluminium, used for the doors, drawer fronts and shelves. The hinges were designed specifically for this collection. The base is matt varnished metal in the colour of the structure.

Giulio Cappellini designed the Luxor series in 2008 as a family of free-standing cabinets for living rooms and contract settings. Cappellini describes them as simple yet designed meticulously down to the smallest details, from the construction of the case to hinges made specifically for the collection.

Door and drawer options

The series covers sideboards with drawers, open-faced cabinets and cabinets with hinged, sliding or flap doors. Internal drawers and shelving can be fitted, and cabinets with doors are equipped with a shelf and drawers.
