Description

Overview

David Lopez Quincoces designed the Lorentz sofa for Living Divani in 2024. It is built from modular base, backrest and armrest elements of different dimensions, joined with hooks.

Construction

The frame is poplar plywood with solid and honeycomb fir wood. The base holds a black under-seat panel and polyurethane foam padding, lined with 100% polyether, onto which a thermofixed polyamide velveteen backing is bonded. Backrests, armrests and seat cushions combine differentiated-density polyurethane foam with a mat of goose down, pre-washed and sterilised, kept in separate stitched compartments.

Specifications

Seat depth: 68, 116 or 132 cm. The feet are moulded recycled and regenerated polyamide with a black lacquered steel outer part of 40 mm; they adjust by 3 cm at most. Plastic tips are the floor contact. Zippers and Velcro hold the upholstery, in fabric or leather, and it can be taken off entirely. A backrest 5 cm higher can be ordered.

Story

A cloud suspended in the air

Lorentz floats: its gravity is unconventional and therefore inviting. Its base seems to hang in mid-air under soft cushions that are described as rounded hills with gentle slopes on which to rest undisturbed.

Elements of different dimensions

Base, backrest and armrest elements of different dimensions are joined together with specific hooks. Seat depth comes in 68, 116 and 132 cm.
