Description

Overview

Rodolfo Dordoni's Leslie sofa for Minotti has slim proportions and a wrapping seat back with a Memory Foam insert. Minotti says the small footprint suits residential and hospitality areas short of space, naming lounges, waiting rooms and corporate offices. Unlike the Leslie chairs, the sofa takes one upholstery material only: all leather or all fabric.

Construction

The frame is metal clad in fire-resistant foam, and the seat frame is solid ash stained open-pore Moka, attached to a metal underframe by rubber-rich elastic webbing. The seat is variable-density, high-resilience polyurethane foam plus a central insert of steel pocket springs, and the padding is all channeled goose down. The legs are moulded cast aluminium in Pewter, polished and anti-fingerprint, with black SEBS pads.

Specifications

The sofa measures 156 cm wide, 87 cm deep and 75 cm high, with the seat at 39 cm according to the official drawing. The seat covering, in fabric or leather, can be taken off completely. The seat back cover can be removed in fabric but not in leather.

Story

Master craft, small scale

Minotti describes the sofa as slim in proportion and built in a way that reflects the master craftsmanship long associated with its products.

Seat back and wood frame

Comfort comes from the enveloping back with its Memory Foam insert, while the seat rests on an elegant solid wood structure with an open-pore Moka stain. The name is shared with the Leslie chairs, whose outer and inner shells may mix materials, whereas the sofa uses a single material throughout.
