Description

Overview

Lawson is Rodolfo Dordoni's seating system for Minotti, and the brand's page speaks of fluid shapes and soft volumes, and of a look built on leather that follows the curve of the backrest and turns into an armrest, set against fabric cushions. Small lounge armchairs, a larger easy chair, sofas, chaise longues and elements of several lengths and depths belong to the system.

Construction

A solid wood seat structure in resilient foam and a metal backrest in fireproof polyurethane foam are both wrapped in heat-bonded fibre and white hypoallergenic cotton. Seat and back cushions have a channelled goose down fill with the Assopiuma Gold Label, around a foam core. Bases are semi-curved metal blades, polished Pewter or Chrome. Fabric and leather covers can be removed.

Specifications

Lawson Large sofa 270: 270 cm wide, 98 cm deep and 80 cm high (technical sheet).

Story

Two materials side by side

Minotti builds the design on a contrast of materials: leather follows the curve of the enveloping backrest and becomes the armrest, while the cushions are fabric with a haute couture feel. Each piece can be had in many combinations of materials and colours, the page says.

Small rooms and large

The page points to layouts with alternating depths, for small intimate corners or compositions of several elements, and calls Lawson suited to residential interiors with a vocation for hospitality because it is modular. Sofas and armchairs stand on chrome or polished Pewter metal feet, and an armchair also exists with Moka-coloured ash legs or leather-clad legs.
