Overview
Koishi is a coffee table by Jean-Marie Massaud, 2020. Poliform says the tables are inspired by soft lines and organic shapes, and that the name Koishi means "pebble" in Japanese.
Construction
The structure is painted metal, which the page calls sculptural but minimal. Tops are medium-density fibre panels in veneer or marble, and the page names wood, glass and marble as the top materials.
Specifications
- Size: 1050 x 620 x 270 mm (first drawing)
- Structure: painted metal
- Top: fibre panel in veneer or marble; wood, stone, glass or marble finishes
Story
A pebble in Japanese
Poliform explains that Koishi means "pebble" in Japanese. In its words the name points to naturalness, which shows again in the marble, stone and wood used. The tables take soft lines and organic shapes as their inspiration.
Sculptural but minimal
The page calls the metal structure sculptural but minimal. Wood, glass and marble are the materials available for the top, and the finishes tab adds stone.
