Description

Overview

Kinesit Met article 4863 is the 2021 development of Arper’s original 2014 Kinesit office-chair family by Lievore Altherr Molina. Its task-chair functions are integrated into a lightweight profile rather than presented as separate technical components.

Construction

The range combines an aluminium five-spoke base on castors with low- or medium-back seating. Arper offers polyester mesh, front-upholstered polypropylene and fully upholstered versions in fabric, leather or coated fabric. A synchronized self-weighting mechanism sits below the seat, while adjustable lumbar support is enclosed within the backrest.

Specifications

  • Representative article: 4863 Kinesit Met, low upholstered back
  • Largest drawing values, not labelled with axes: 64 × 63 × 96 cm
  • Additional unlabelled vertical range in the drawing: 42–54 cm
  • Optional fixed or two-direction adjustable armrests

Story

Technical functions kept out of sight

Arper frames Kinesit as a synthesis of operative performance and visual clarity. The synchronized mechanism responds to the sitter’s weight but remains concealed beneath the seat, and the adjustable lumbar element is similarly contained inside the back structure.

A later executive interpretation

The original chair dates to 2014. Arper introduced Kinesit Met in 2021 as a more refined development, retaining the task-chair platform while adding a fully upholstered back, fixed aluminium armrests, metallic base finishes and a renewed palette.
