Story
From sketch to bergère
Palomba Serafini Associati began Kent as a high-backed bergère and footrest in warm, sensual shades, with tweed proposed as an ideal textile. The designers looked to historic Arne Jacobsen seating of the 1950s and 1960s while seeking a padded object that could sit between vintage and futurism. Zanotta's account emphasizes the harmonious curves of the back and sides, together with a cushion built into the seat to make the armchair read as one unified, monolithic form.
