Kennedee Sofa

Overview

Jean-Marie Massaud designed Kennedee, a modular sofa from Poltrona Frau. The page says its modules permit linear, corner and curved configurations, with dynamic, clean lines that allow combinations that can also be large without ever being overbearing.

Construction

The seat structure is solid seasoned beech; the backrest and armrest structure is seasoned beech with MDF parts. The padding is polyurethane foam and polyester wadding, the seat suspension is elastic belts, and the sofa's feet are drawn steel with a gunmetal grey finish and protective plastic caps.

Quilting by hand

The page calls the fine quilting of the backrest and cushions the distinguishing trait of the Kennedee sofa and the perfect embodiment of Poltrona Frau's historic artisan craftsmanship. The delicate X motif is hand-produced with contrast stitching; in fabric versions the sheet describes topstitching with matching yarn.

Curves and open views

The sheet says the different elements allow the free creation of curving lines and open perspectives, and that an ottoman and a small table complete the range to be placed freely for different uses.
