Description

Overview

Journal Desk Black is a compact desk by Simon Legald for Normann Copenhagen. A laminate desktop with an oak edge sits on a slim steel frame, and the top, legs and drawer share one colour.

Construction

The frame is tubular steel and sheet steel with slightly outward sloping legs; the legs and drawer are powder coated steel. The desktop is laminate with an oak edge, and a steel drawer sits under it. A silicone grommet protects the opening for power cords. The desk comes flat-packed.

Specifications

L130 x D65 x H74 cm, 20.5 kg (Journal Desk Black, 602190).

Story

An old French industrial frame

The frame of Journal is inspired by old French industrial furniture. It combines tubular steel with sheet steel, and its legs slope slightly outward. Frame and laminate desktop are coloured in the same subdued shade, and the oak edge of the top lightly interrupts the monochrome look and adds softness.

A small desk for the home

Simon Legald set out to create a desk that meets the requirements of our time and fits into the decor of a home as a harmonious part of it. The desk is suitably small so that it does not take up too much space, and its discreet functional details help create a pleasant environment in which good ideas can flow.
