Overview
Jet Shelf 160 cm Black is a wall shelf designed by Simon Legald for Normann Copenhagen in 2016. Its light aluminum body has a spacious design and a clear-cut industrial silhouette, with an asymmetric relationship between a horizontal and a vertical surface.
Construction
The shelf is made of extruded aluminum that is CNC cut after extrusion, with a powder coated finish. Small incisions in the profile create a grooved surface texture. It is delivered with plugs, screws and a mounting bracket, and the maximum load is estimated at 10 kg.

Story
A play with surfaces and production
Jet is the result of a designer's play with surfaces and production. Simon Legald experimented with compositions of surfaces, spaciousness and texture to create a simple yet unconventional wall shelf.
Grooves that hold things in place
The grooved texture comes from small incisions in the extruded profile. The grooves make items placed on the shelf less likely to slide, and the raw industrial look makes Jet a refreshingly alternative choice for a wall shelf.
