Jenette
Edra describes Jenette as a chair molded in polyurethane with metal armor, designed around the link between rigid and flexible. Its flexible back changes the expected relationship between a stable chair frame and a yielding backrest. The backrest is formed by a range of PVC stems, which Edra says are modeled through use in a free position. This combination gives the chair a clearly articulated structure: the molded seat and armor provide the rigid side, while the stem-built back introduces movement and variation. Edra attributes the design to Fernando e Humberto Campana and records it in architectural projects across Italy, Russia, Switzerland and Brazil.
Story
Rigid structure, flexible back
Jenette is defined by contrast. Edra names a polyurethane-molded chair with metal armor, then sets that rigid construction against a backrest made from PVC stems. The stems are modeled through use and can remain in a free position, so the back is not described as a fixed, uniform surface. The official project list places Jenette at Chalet Serge, Hotel Villa Franca in Positano, an apartment in Moscow and Casa 17-JB in Brazil.
