Jay Lounge Armchair

Overview

Jay Lounge is Jean-Marie Massaud's reinterpretation of the bergère for Poltrona Frau. Separate seat and back volumes are formed in moulded polyurethane around metal inserts and padded with polyurethane foam and polyester wadding.

Movement and versions

The four-spoke aluminium base can complete a full rotation before its return device restores the starting orientation. A fixed-back armchair and a manually reclining version are listed, both with leather upholstery and matching stitching. Plastic caps protect the floor beneath the base.

A reduced bergère

Poltrona Frau describes Massaud as lightening the volumes of the traditional bergère while preserving an enveloping seat. The page positions Jay Lounge for residential, public and work settings.

Recline and return

The reclining model responds to pressure on the back and uses a lever below the right armrest for further adjustment. The swivel mechanism brings the chair back to its initial orientation.
