Story
A term from calligraphy
In Japanese calligraphy, "iren" (意連) is the name for a continuity that is unseen yet intended, tying together the points, lines and characters of a text so that they stay in harmony although they look apart. The desk with this name is meant to revive a natural, harmonious gesture, in a pursuit of beauty and simplicity.
A compact desk on the wall
Kensaku Oshiro conceived Iren as a compact workstation for the home that fits easily with modern lifestyles. One simple movement makes its two stacked surfaces slide over one another, which creates new areas for work and for storage. The upper surface is gently sloped for a softer feel and better support under the forearms.
