Hubert

Overview

Hubert by Vincent Van Duysen is a group of occasional tables dated 2019 on its datasheet. Molteni&C's page says they were designed to accompany the Gregor sofa, echoing its soft, rounded angles. They come in square or rectangular formats, each with two horizontal wooden tops.

Construction

The tops are chipboard panels, shaped and covered with wood veneer in eucalyptus or oak, and the lower shelf sits on the floor on adjustable plastic feet. The corner supports are inserts in curved metal sheet covered in bonded hide leather, and they form a partially closed compartment between the top and the shelf below.

A companion to the Gregor sofa

The Molteni&C page says Hubert extends the collection's refined, contemporary language into functional surfaces. Each table reflects the sofa's soft, rounded angles, in a balance of sculptural presence and everyday practicality.

A compartment for small objects

A partially enclosed compartment between the upper surface and the lower shelf offers discreet space for books, remotes or personal items. This space is meant for various handy objects for those sitting on the sofa.
