Description

Overview

Simon Legald designed Hinx Lamp Dark Brown for Normann Copenhagen as a pendant that pairs a softly glowing opal glass shade with a ring-shaped element in a subtle colour. The contrast between translucency and solidity gives the pendant its depth.

Construction

The shade is matte etched opal glass, and the fitting is made from tinted, unsaturated polyester resin. The lamp has a G9 socket and a 4 m white textile cord.

Specifications

Ø15 x H18 cm (Hinx Lamp Dark Brown, 611280). Socket G9, maximum load 5 W; a G9 3 W, 220 lm LED is recommended and the light source is not included.

Story

Hopscotch as a starting point

Hinx Lamp draws on Simon Legald's childhood memories of playing hopscotch with the "hinkesten", and the pendant turns that playfulness and nostalgia into a contemporary lighting object. The design is defined by the meeting of contrasting elements.

Introduced in 2026

Normann Copenhagen introduced Hinx Lamp in June 2026. A solid, ring-shaped block is paired with the glass shade, adding depth and a subtle splash of colour, while the etched glass diffuses the light evenly and the heavier element anchors the design with a sculptural presence.
