Overview
Herit Armchair is the armrest version of Simon Legald's Herit series for Normann Copenhagen. According to the press release, its curved armrests are what called for a new way of moulding polypropylene.
Construction
The Materials line gives a plastic shell on oak legs. The page's product information, worded for the series, describes polypropylene parts moulded with an injected foam core and legs of solid wood.
Specifications
Herit Armchair Oak Black (1401030) measures W 60 x D 51 x H 81.5 cm, with a 45 cm seat height and a weight of 7 kg.
Story
Armrests that needed a new moulding method
The press release says the curved armrests asked for more room and full control of the shape than standard polypropylene moulding allows, so the project was set aside until Legald found a factory that injects a core of foam into the material.
Delicacy and fullness
Normann Copenhagen describes the curves of the back and armrest as an easy, sensuous exchange between delicacy and fullness, and says the oval section of legs and stretchers makes the solid base look airy and delicate.
