Description

Overview

Hat Lamp Large EU Black is a pendant light by Simon Legald for Normann Copenhagen, named after its recognizable silhouette. The conical lampshade sends a generous beam of direct light downwards.

Construction

The shade is powder-coated aluminum, painted white on the inner side, and it hangs on a 4 m textile cord that matches the colour of the shade. A plastic canopy is supplied, black for the black version, and the socket fixing for the bulb sits inside the shade.

Specifications

Ø25 x H17 cm (Hat Lamp Large EU Black, 608315). Socket E27, maximum load 10 W LED; an 8 W LED is recommended and the bulb is not included.

Story

A silhouette that gives the lamp its name

Hat takes its name from the recognizable outline of its shade. The distinctive conical lampshade emits a generous beam of direct light downwards, and the form is simplistic and clean, giving an intuitive indication of how the light is emitted.

Introduced in 2023

Normann Copenhagen presented Hat in June 2023 as its newest lamp collection, designed by Simon Legald. A column of light extends from the shade, which the manufacturer describes as showing a design process where functionality has paved the way for the design idiom.
