Hamilton

Overview

Hamilton is Rodolfo Dordoni's broad modular seating programme for Minotti: a minimal linear drawing, compact volumes and a characteristic metal base that stays close to the floor. It is sold in three versions, Hamilton, Hamilton Sofà and Hamilton Modulo.

Construction

Inside is a solid wood structure with polyurethane foam of several densities, a first layer of heat-bonded fibre on white cotton and woven elastic straps rich in rubber. Seat and back cushions use channeled goose down around a high-resilience polyurethane insert. In the Frame version the base is a 40x20 mm oval-section metal frame, polished Black-Nickel or Bronze varnish, with black rear feet. The Feet version has ash legs in an open-pore Moka stain and no base around the perimeter.

Specifications

The Hamilton Sofa CM 180 drawing reads 180 cm wide, 104 cm deep, 73 cm high, seat at 40 cm. Fabric versions have removable covers (take the external base apart first); leather versions do not. Loose cushions on offer: Hamilton 40x40 and 60x60 cm, Cross 40x40 and 60x60 cm, and Milano 46x46 cm.

Launched in 2004

Minotti says Hamilton has been a success worldwide since 2004. The metal base, drawn like a frame around each element, became a signature of the brand and returned later in other shapes and finishes.

Kept up to date

According to Minotti, the family keeps developing as the company studies function, ergonomics and materials, with a strong bent for tailoring. The system is presented as suited to today's living areas, where people relax, work, entertain and talk.
