Golden Gate

Overview

Golden Gate is an outdoor dining table by Vincent Van Duysen in the Timeout Collection, with the year 2022 in its datasheet heading. The page says it is designed to seat six or eight and is available with two kinds of top.

Construction

The datasheet lists legs in painted steel with plastic ferrules, a frame in painted aluminium, and a top in solid teak with a natural finish or in enamelled lava rock. The page says the structure draws inspiration from the signature burnished aluminium band, with sled-shaped supports that extend from the tabletop.

A table for the Timeout Collection

Molteni&C's page says the Golden Gate dining table reinterprets the traditional outdoor table with refined proportions and material sophistication. The datasheet says its proportions and choice of materials let it match both of the company's new outdoor collections, and that its slatted top is designed for water drainage.

A band without corners

The structure takes up the motif of the burnished aluminium band, with a rounded profile and no corners. As in the whole Timeout Collection, the sled-shaped bases are made by the continuous movement of the same metal band and sit flush with the top as a natural continuation of it.
