Description
Overview
The Glover armchair is built around what Minotti calls a fluid line engendered by a soft, continuous stroke. The page describes an unusual juncture between the enveloping seat back and the armrest, emphasised by studs in pewter-coloured painted metal, and an unexpected opening in the seat back that lets the seat cushion show through. An ottoman is listed with it.
Construction
- Structure: metal in separate modules (backrest, arms, seat) with high-natural-rubber elastic webbing in flame-resistant polyurethane foam, plus a variable-density Memory Foam insert bonded to the armrests
- Seat cushion: channelled goose down with a high-resilience polyurethane centre insert
- Backrest cushion: preformed variable-density insert and a lightweight channelled goose down quilt
- Details: two decorative Pewter-colour brass upholstery nails, one on each side
- Covers: frame, seat and backrest cushions all zip off; feet in black nylon with felt glides
Specifications
- Armchair: W 95 x D 93 cm
Story
A single material
Minotti says the choice of a single upholstery material, leather or fabric, creates a harmonious monochrome effect, and that the detailed workmanship draws the eye to the flawless stitching.
From the legs to the Kirk tables
According to the page, the design of the legs also served as the inspiration for the Kirk occasional tables, which come in many sizes and finishes.
