George's Chair

Overview

David Lopez Quincoces designed George's for Living Divani in 2015. It is a neat design, enriched by materials and finishings, and a dining chair for indoor and outdoor use.

Construction

The supporting frame is tubular and steel rod section of 16 mm diameter. For indoors it is coated with epoxy powder finish RAL 9017 matt black, and for outdoors a galvanizing base sits under an epoxy polyester powder finish in the same RAL 9017 matt black. The Light version is the frame alone; the woven version carries a weave in hide (2.5 mm) or synthetic rope (2 mm) indoors, and in synthetic rope (2 mm) outdoors. The seat is made of 5 slats glued together, in natural or charcoal-dyed solid ash with a waterbased acrylic paint finish indoors, or in solid Iroko wood outdoors. The floor support is provided by plastic tips.

Weaves and seat woods

The woven version takes hide or synthetic rope, and the seat comes in natural or charcoal-dyed ash for indoors and in Iroko for outdoors. Plastic tips carry the chair on the floor.
