Description
Overview
Gatwick is an oval table by Rodolfo Dordoni, headed 2019 on Molteni&C's datasheet. The sheet says it takes the name of London's Gatwick airport, and that the name was inspired by the twisted, criss-cross structure, which recalls an airplane propeller or a helicopter blade. An aluminium frame in several finishes supports oval tops of three sizes.

Construction
The structure is extruded aluminium, bent to form the leg and painted, with a joint that connects the leg to an aluminium crosspiece and a metal bracket fixed under the top. The top is a shaped fibreboard panel with eucalyptus veneer, or marble, on a chipboard undertop faced with melamine. The feet are plastic with felt pads.
Specifications
- GTO21/10, oval table: 210 cm wide, 105 cm deep, 74 cm on the vertical dimension line (not labelled on the drawing)
Story
Named after an airport
Molteni&C's page says Gatwick was inspired by London's iconic airport and by how travellers converge there from around the world; it presents the table as a shared space in the home for conversation and dining. The sheet places the origin of the name in the shape of the structure instead.
A frame under oval tops
The page describes a precision-crafted aluminium frame that balances strength and lightness, with clean lines and geometric clarity that leave the surrounding space free. The tops are offered in an array of finishes.
