Overview
Four Leaves is a coat stand designed by Edward Barber & Jay Osgerby in 2010 for Magis. The leaves hold coats, and the arms serve as little rails for hangers.
Construction
The base and coat hanger are in die-cast aluminium, polished or painted, and the frame is aluminium tube, polished or painted.

Story
From sketches to a simple form
Barber & Osgerby describe Four Leaves as a coat stand that should look fantastic both dressed and undressed, which is why they avoided functionalism and whimsy. The project went through hundreds of sketches and models until they reached a shape so simple that it felt as though it had evolved rather than been designed.
The leaves and the arms
The leaves hold coats, and the arms serve as little rails for hangers. The base and head are die-cast aluminium.
