Overview

Fonte is a series of round tables by Vincent Van Duysen; its datasheet heading carries the year 2024. The Molteni&C page presents three designs for three uses: a coffee table, a lounge table and a bedside table. The datasheet draws five models, among them the coffee table FTV4.

Construction

The structure is stained solid ash wood with thermoplastic feet, resting on three vertical uprights. The tops are oak-veneered fibreboard 20 mm thick, 20 mm marble, or 8 mm back-painted tempered glass. The bedside table adds a drawer, with front in solid ash and sides and bottom in veneered fibreboard, and a perimeter profile in painted aluminium.

• Top finishes: oak, marble in the Cat. M and Cat. S groups, black back-painted clear glass

Three tables for three uses

The Molteni&C page describes Fonte as refined craftsmanship meeting innovation, with a coffee table, a lounge table and a night table, each with a top in an array of finishes. The subdued hues of each top harmonise with the base to create a contemporary interplay of solidity and fluidity.

In the designer's words

The datasheet quotes Vincent Van Duysen describing the pieces as key pieces with exquisite taste, enriched with unparalleled details. It adds that the bedside table has a practical drawer and an upper ring in a burnished painted finish, and that the lounge table offers a generous surface.
