Description
Overview
Fenc-e-Nature Armchair is Philippe Starck's 2020 outdoor chair for Cassina. Its back can be set in two positions.
Construction
A metal base supports the seat, while solid teak forms the arms and manual adjusting posts. The back uses rope or untreated willow, and the cushions are prepared for outdoor upholstery. Six fabric ranges provide 89 upholstery colours.
Story
Manual adjustment
The back position is changed with a solid-teak post secured by wood pins. Cassina presents this deliberately manual arrangement as part of the Fenc-e-Nature concept.
Independent format
The armchair translates the reclining back and broad arm supports into a single-seat model.
