Overview
Fairmount is an outdoor table in solid teak by Vincent Van Duysen, dated 2024 on its datasheet. Molteni&C's page says it merges the character of teak with the emotional language of the Landmark Collection. The top comes in rectangular or round shapes, with a tea table in a smaller round size.

Construction
The tops and legs are solid teak with a natural finish and adjustable plastic ferrules. Solid planks are arranged on specially engineered support structures; a light inclination gives the planks the look of a floating top. The rectangular table has a base of two rectangular structures, and the round table a Y-shaped base with three solid beams meeting at a central junction.
Specifications
- FTA22 rectangular table: 220 cm, 115.4 cm and 74 cm (axes not labelled on the drawing)
- FTA28 rectangular table: 280 cm length (as named on the page), 74 cm high
- FTR16 round table: diameter 160 cm, 74 cm high
- FTL12 tea table: diameter 120 cm, 64 cm high
- Waterproof cover: 100% polyester, available per size
Story
Planks that seem to float
The challenge of Fairmount lies in the suspended planks, arranged to form a labyrinthine geometric figure and to give the illusion of a floating tabletop. Specially engineered support structures arrange the solid teak planks symmetrically.
Two bases, one table
Molteni&C describes the round version's Y-shaped base, with three beams extending from a central junction, as fostering conviviality and the sociability associated with the round shape. The rectangular version uses a base of two rectangular structures. The datasheet places the table in the Landmark Collection and gives the design the year 2024.
