Description

Overview

Claudio Dondoli and Marco Pocci designed Ettoriano, a chair whose minimalism joins the finesse of a steel base with an all-enveloping one-piece moulded shell.

Construction

The seat and back are a single 12 mm thick grey PET felt shell, pressed from three layers of 10 mm felt (150 g/m²) made with recycled plastic bottles. The base is sanded and textured anthracite lacquered steel.

Specifications

Size: 485 x 550 x 795 mm (W x D x H). The chair seats one, with a 470 mm seat height, and weighs 8 kg.

Story

Felt shell, steel base

Dondoli and Pocci give Ettoriano the convinced minimalism of a fine steel base carrying a single moulded shell. The shell is made from felt, a material whose warmth strengthens the comfort of its welcoming, body-hugging curves.

Recycled PET felt

The felt is PET, an ecological material produced by recycling plastic bottles. Three layers of 10 mm felt are pressed together to make the 12 mm shell, a contemporary solution that is both discreet and comfortable.
