Overview

Eri armchair, designed by Fumie Shibata in 2024. Flexform says its contours were inspired by elegantly uplifted jacket lapels: an upholstered shell on hand-turned legs holds soft goose-down seat and backrest cushions.

Construction

Shell in rigid polyurethane laminated to foam, upholstered in leather, fabric or both; goose-down seat cushion; base in turned walnut, ash or oak with a black-painted metal frame, or a metal swivel base.

Story

Jacket lapels

Flexform's page says the delicate contours of the Eri armchair were inspired by elegantly uplifted jacket lapels. Hand-turned, finished legs hold an upholstered shell of well-balanced proportions, which embraces soft seat and backrest cushions filled with goose down.

Shell and cushions

The page offers a broad array of fabric and leather upholstery, with the shell and the cushions free to take different combinations. A version with a metal swivel base is also offered, in a range of finishes.
